A twenty-year veteran of the direct marketing industry, Sandra Perez has worked with such prestigious organizations as Boardroom Books, Consumer Reports, Lorman Education Services, the National Fire Protection Association, and National Geographic.  Her proficiency is in developing and executing successful national marketing campaigns as well as managing the buying and selling of marketing data for consumer and business-to-business markets.

Sandra graduated from Concordia College-New York in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was the recipient of the Adult Education Award for Academic Excellence in Behavioral Science.  She is a charter member of Alpha Sigma Lambda, a national honor society that recognizes the achievements of outstanding nontraditional students, and had the honor of being graduation speaker at commencement, having earned the highest grade point average in her class. With the knowledge gained during this time Sandra decided it was time to change direction and go into public service.

Proud of her Puerto Rican heritage and culture, serving her community and being an agent of change are of utmost importance to Sandra.  Building on the foundation her parents laid in serving others, her ultimate goal is to create positive changes in the Latino community specifically for undocumented immigrants.  Her fluency in Spanish and ability to understand cultural differences provide a unique opportunity for her to be a voice for families who oftentimes go unheard.

As a National Urban Fellow, Sandra hopes to be a part of the solution that develops fair and equitable processes for accessing education, housing, healthcare, and employment for all citizens.
