MENTOR
Ms. Michelle DePass
Assistant Administrator in the Office of International and Tribal Affairs

Before National Urban Fellows, Rebecca Bradley was a program coordinator at CARE Services, Baltimore City’s area agency on aging.  She was responsible for implementing a state project for the national Aging and Disability Resource Center initiative within Baltimore City. She established an advisory board consisting of local stakeholders, identified strategies to improve consumer access to services, and coordinated staff training.

Ms. Bradley previously worked at Baltimore HealthCare Access, a quasi-public agency of the Baltimore City Health Department, coordinating health care for low-come individuals.  She also worked at HERO, a community-based HIV/AIDS service organization, working with families of HIV+ infants and children and later coordinating the agency’s program for HIV+ women and children.

Rebecca pursued a Master's degree in Social Work at Howard University, with the goal of managing social programs more effectively.  As a student, she realized that organizational policies can create barriers to services and developed an interest in the impact of legislative policies on systems and program outcomes. A graduate of Morgan State University, she received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work.

She strives to support positive change in her community both professionally and personally.  She volunteers with the Baltimore HIV Health Services Planning Council and the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland.

As a National Urban Fellow, Rebecca looks forward for a unique opportunity for professional growth.  Her goal is to improve the lives of those in underserved communities and would like to impact this change on the national level.
