Prior to her selection as a National Urban Fellow, Erin Jordan worked as an Account Coordinator with Red Cloud LLC, a boutique promotional marketing and manufacturing firm in Los Angeles, California.  She supported a small sales team with office management, vendor relations, and client support. Prior to this, she served as Volunteer Programs Coordinator for the Merrill Lynch Global Philanthropy team, where her responsibilities focused on recruitment, planning and management of team volunteer activities. She served as a liaison for nonprofit partners and other organizations requesting volunteer support and managed the online recruitment and information web site. She also worked within the charitable giving division of Merrill Lynch Global Philanthropy, handling due diligence for corporate contributions.

Erin has an extensive volunteer history as a Mentor and Mentor Manager with the Greater Phoenix and New York City Youth at Risk organizations. She served in their Woman to Woman programs, supporting pregnant and parenting teenagers as well young women at high risk of becoming teen mothers. She also served in the youth mission’s ministry at Crenshaw Christian Center traveling to Jamaica and Brazil.

Erin is the youngest of twins from Los Angeles, California, where she graduated from Crenshaw Senior High School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University.

As a National Urban Fellow, Erin hopes to leverage her experiences and skills as well as NUF’s broad network of Fellows and Mentors to guide her through a productive and impactful career supporting education and youth development in underserved communities.
